Full description: In this workshop, QUAD Tutors Haley Bohn and Ben Webster will provide a beginner-level overview of data manipulation and visualization in Python, paired with applicable functions of the pandas and Matplotlib libraries. Topics include an outline of DataFest, data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, and data visualization techniques. This workshop notably benefits students with limited data science experience, those familiar with Python but lacking background in R, and students interested in participating in DataFest.
About TechBytes: TechBytes is a weekly department event for students and faculty gather to discuss various topics related to computing. There is typically a set topic featuring members of Willamette’s staff, faculty, and students as speakers. These topics range from career advice and uses of emerging technology to info sessions about relevant programs. Snacks and pizza are usually provided!
